Derek’s a 28-year-old millennial living in Manhattan, and he’s got the world by the tail. He’s a super talented and popular app designer, and has honed his skills over the past few years working for some great companies. He loves what he does, and he’s just taken the plunge to forge out on his own, taking on new clients and making his way in the city that never sleeps.
To save money, he lives as many do, in a tiny 350 sq. ft. apartment, which costs a small fortune, and he spends most days working from a WeWork Coworker space that he can walk to.
It’s affordable, and gives him access everything he needs, like meeting rooms and Internet, for a fraction of the cost of a full office.
You would not believe how expensive Manhattan is!
As you can imagine, living in a city like Manhattan is really expensive on just about every level. As a result, Derek is intently focused on doing everything he can to save money, and food is a big expense. Derek got turned onto the Eat, Play… Go! platform through David, a friend and client who lives in San Francisco, a city that costs just about as much as NYC.
David said that there were over 6,000 BOGO’s & Deals right where he lived in San Francisco, with over 1,400 of them at restaurants. David happens to be really health conscious, and one of his favorite places, ‘Farm Fresh to You’, has a 10% discount that he uses like 4 days a week, since the discounts never expire.
David also told Derek that he’s uses Eat, Play… Go! to book hotels for some of his best clients that travel to town to meet with him. The savings are so substantial he also uses it to save his parents money when they come to town.
Derek loved what he was hearing from David, so David shot him a link and Derek joined for free to check it out. Turns out a search for deals around him in NYC shows that there are over 10,000 BOGO’s, Deals, & Discounts, with over 2,000 of them in restaurants right there in NYC, and bonus, lots of them were at places he already eats at.
Derek’s Hotel Search
Derek also remembered that he has a client coming into town in July to meet with him for one night, and he needed to book them a hotel. Since the cost was on him, he secretly wanted to find a cheap hotel that didn’t break the bank, but he needed something that was also nice and comfortable.
So, he did a search for a nice hotel in the Times Square Area, since they told him they also wanted to catch Hamilton when they were in town. To his pleasant surprise, he found the Marriott Residence Inn Manhattan, Times Square on the Eat, Play… Go! website for $228.35, including all taxes & fees.
Wondering if that was a good rate, he looked up the same hotel and dates on Expedia, Priceline, Booking.com and Marriott’s own website, and this is what he found
- Expedia – $463.35
- Priceline – $461.35
- Booking.com – $463.35
- Marriott’s Own Website – $417.46
The Eat, Play… Go! price was 46% below Marriott’s own price, and 50% below the other websites.
He couldn’t believe it, but he sure was thrilled!
Derek loves his subscription in Eat, Play… Go!, and he uses it for both his personal and business life just about every day. He has also shared his experience with his friends and family, just like David did for him, and they love it too.
